Aztec Mural will demolished for the sake of improving the LAHC campus

Most of the Los Angeles Harbor College students see the remodeling as an improvement to the school, but some see its history being torn down along with the buildings.
Near the business building there is an Aztec Mural that has been there for many years. As the construction moves along, the mural will not be conserved due to its structural damage brought by age.

A blood drive is being sponsored by the Los Angeles Harbor College Associated Students Organization on May 6, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Seahawk Center's second floor.

To be a donor you must be at least 17 years of age, have a photo I.D., weigh at least 110 lbs.

Five years remain until LAHC's construction will be completed

Los Angeles Harbor College opened class enrollment in 1949. After 61 years, our school has been changing for a better educational environment. "We have been under construction since 2001 and the purpose is to turn our school green and modern," said Ann Tomlinson.

LAHC cheer squad on the verge of extermination

The Los Angeles Harbor College cheer squad is going a through shortage of member's crisis. If they do not recruit enough members by the end of the semester, they will be cut by the upcoming fall semester. "Other than the sports teams, people don't know that we are here and that we are also part of the academics," said Coach Joy.

LAHC students encouraged to enroll into summer session soon as registration opens

Were you going to be a summer school attendee this year? Well if you were, you need to sign up as soon as registration opens. This summer of classes is going to be pretty small with a small list of General Education classes being offered.

With the Los Angeles Community College District facing more budget woes, community colleges in the district are expected to offer only a minimal number of basic courses.

Final poetry night on tap

Los Angeles Harbor College will host the last of its annual poetry nights tonight (April 22) at 7:15 at the Sacred Grounds Cafe.

Language is limited.

The cafe is located at 464 W. 6th St. in San Pedro.
