Structure expected to remedy parking woes

Los Angeles Harbor College has decided to build a parking structure to relieve the college's parking woes. According to Vice President of Administrative Services Ann Tomlinson, the four-story building on the northwest end of campus at L Street will feature an underground level, as well as three stories above ground.

The LA City elections will be held on campus Tuesday, March 3rd in the FMO Staff Lounge located in the Facilities Maintenance and Operations (FMO) building. Please be aware that "No Election Parking" signs will have been posted at all the staff parking lots but we will not be citing cars that park in the staff lots.

If you donated blood last week at the Los Angeles Harbor College Blood Drive you can pat yourself on the back for saving lives. The event was held on the second floor of the Seahawk Center. This marks the second time the Associated Students Organization and Kaiser Permanente hospital teamed up to host a blood-giving campaign.

The Sacred Grounds Coffee House in San Pedro has been opening its doors to Los Angeles Harbor College students, parents and siblings of students, South Bay locals, and aspiring poets for the past seven years. The event is hosted by the English Department.

ASO President suspended

Controversial student Rachael Richards was suspended last month as student body president after challenging the policies of Associated Student Organization adviser, Nina Malone. The suspension is for the duration of the spring semester and prohibits Richards from participating in any activities or coming into the ASO area of the Seahawk Center.

Every year Los Angeles Harbor College hosts various ceremonies awarding the success and hard work of the students here on campus. There are three separate ceremonies, each for awarding students for individual achievements. The first is the Academic Honors ceremony on April 24th, from noon till 2 pm in the Seahawk Center lounge.

An altercation between a young woman and a man in the Northeast Academic Hall Thursday (Feb. 19) resulted in an alleged kidnapping at Los Angeles Harbor College. According to reports, the incident took place about 1:15 p.m. when a witness to an exchange between the man and woman tried to intervene and he was thrown to the ground.

According to reports, a witness to an exchange between a man and woman tried to intervene and was thrown to the ground. The alleged assailant grabbed the young women and took her to his car and drove away before authorities arrived. Sheriffs mum on what took place.
